Inhabitants of a small resort town work hard during summer. And after the season is over, they traditionally reward themselves with a journey. But autumn in 2020 brought us a new wave of COVID, and all the journeys went down the drain.
On the other hand, every year the City library organizes the Festival of used books. Since books are journeys, it was natural, during the adapted version of the Festival in 2020, to transform the City Library into a: travel agency! Therefore we asked travel agencies to give us their unused posters, which we linked with titles of the books, and than used them to invite the citizens to travel. On posters there were QR codes, linked with the library’s website that was redesigned in order to look like a travelling agency website, with the destination search and the booking system. So, through posters and website, users could find the destination they like, check the availability, book, and depart! In the end, the festival was held, people traveled, and the library recorded a record number of loans!
