Aker is a smart precision-agriculture crop-monitoring platform using UAV (drones) to help farmers keep every plant healthy on a massive scale.
Because agriculture is a conservative field of business, it is of great importance that innovations are as user-friendly as possible. That’s why Aker approached us to conceive and build their logo, identity applications and mobile app.
We defined the core values of the company through competitor analysis, creative positioning and strategy workshops. After thorough research, we decided on the name ‘Aker’: a play on the ‘unit of measurement’, the word for ‘field of agriculture’ as well as the ancient Egyptian earth god. We based our logo design on crop patterns, visible when observing agricultural fields from the sky. This visual style is both impactful, dear to the target audience and referencing the drones that are used for the crop analysis.
By providing Aker with multiple identity applications and a mobile app, we further enabled them to innovate the agricultural sector through new technology. With the launch of the brand and product suite, Aker secured funding from prominent investors and a global agriculture business.
