Brechtfestival Augsburg 2015

”We are displaced and expelled!”: The topic of this year’s Brechtfestival Augsburg is “exile”. The design uses a visual language of arrows, collages from image fragments and text citations, which express the 15 years of living in exile, Bert Brecht had to go through during the Nazi reign 1933-1948.
The arrows illustrate the movement and restlessness of Brecht during that time. The collages show the exaggeration and artificiality of the Broadway glory days. Brecht’s world is in chaos: the graphical arrangement of the elements illustrate the confusion of exile life and the provocations of Brechts literature.
