Designkuplia

’Designkuplia’ is a book by cultural journalist Hannu Pöppönen. It explores the recent history and possible shortcomings of Finnish design in a polemical and humorous manner. Instead of just decorating the book, I was asked to encapsulate and depict the core issues discussed in each of the books chapters. I chose to accompany the text with somewhat slapstick-styled gags – Providing the book with a subtle commentary of my own. Given the general tone of the book I decided to go with an exaggerated and cartoonish style.
