Fountains and Essences of Inspiration

“ If only I could do everything just the way I imagined.“
To see, hear, smell and taste with patience and humility, to take time to do what‘s important, to contemplate the essence of things with intensity and creativity. To feel the profoundness of something to which someone has devoted everything. Circumstances and experiences so intense that they become a lasting inspiration to us. And even change our mindset.
The desire for such endowment is strong. Where does this desire come from? What is inspiration? Where are the fountains of our inspiration? These are some of the questions posed by this artistic, sensitively designed and elaborately produced publication. It goes into incredible depth in a very personal and philosophical yet fundamental manner. Starting with a kind of manifesto of phrases like „The beginning“, „The beauty“, „The stillness“ or „The dream“, the viewer reads through wonderful, gentle short texts about these phrases, interspersed with exceptional citations on these subjects from renowned figures.
At the same time, we admire elaborately printed illustrations, photographs and drawings printed on high-quality Japanese papers. The publication contains 152 pages, is hand-bound, printed in 17 special colours on 25 different types of fine Japanese paper, refined and produced in high quality. The prints can be taken out. An index provides information about the types of paper used, the printing colours as well as the production and refinement techniques. This special edition, which is printed in three languages, will be launched at HQi in November 2013 and is limited to 1000 numbered copies.
