Great Apes 10.0

Nearing our 10 year anniversary we were in desperate need of rebranding and a new web presence. Although our brand was already very recognized in the B2B market of digital design in Finland it was getting slightly outdated. The new website was designed to target clients in need of design and development of innovative and experimental projects and people (potential recruitment candidates) who could deliver them. Our logo – the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey – was used as a design element.
We didn’t want to complete abolish our legacy or the brand recognition so we deconstructed it. And rebuilt it with a credo of “avant-garde”. The site isn’t trying to look Nordic or Scandinavian in it’s design on the surface level at least. It is designed specifically to stand out from the grey mass of design and digital agency sites particularly in Finland, but globally as well. As currently we are apart of a mid-cap PLC it was also very important for us to stand out from the corporate image.
The new Great Apes website is an avant-garde approach to B2B self-promotional sites. The stable of any website; scrolling is intentionally made so addictive that to actually focus on the content in it’s static beauty you need to take your hand of your mousewheel or finger of the touch screen. But even if you choose not to focus on the content you will get a subliminal sense of what we are at our core which is innovative, experimental and a tiny bit whimsical.
