Het einde van het monopolie op smaak
Van De Jong Creative Agency asked me to make four illustrations for their newest case: Amsterdam & Co, a magazine of a new platform initiated by Rabobank.
The first three illustrations accompany an article called ’Het einde van het monopolie op smaak’ written by Guido van Diepen. Find a short description of these illustrations below:
1. An illustration that shows typical Amsterdam canal houses with lots of green to illustrate that Amsterdam becomes more green. There are a lot of roof gardens and people are growing their own veggies. This illustration was also used on the wrapper around the magazine. 2. A still life of different Amsterdam made products such as Oedipus beer and Brandt & Levie sausage. 3. An illustration with three different ’local’ shops. This part of the article was about all kinds of shops using certain words as a marketing tool, even though these not always fit their concept. They easily use words like ’sustainable’, ’local’ and ’handmade.
The last illustration was placed on the back of the magazine. It’s a drawing of a typical Amsterdam place: de Noordermarkt.
