La tierra baldía

The Waste Land is one of the most influential books in the European literature of the XXth century. This translation tries to bring to the Spanish language all the sonority, rhythm and musicality of the original poem.
“These fragments I have shored against my ruins”. In the cover of this edition, both titles (English / Spanish) lie at the bottom of the page merging like lost pieces from an ancient ruin. The chosen typeface dates from 1908 (The poem was first published in 1922) and has a stone-like appeal that takes us to the dusty and arid landscape of the text. When the dust jacket is removed, only an unreadable stony shadow is left, like building blocks from an unfinished wall. Once you open the book, you have to walk over mudcracks.
