Symposium Edward Hopper, Film and Modern Life

by
Gold

The graphic identity of the international symposium Edward Hopper, Film and Modern Life that was part of the Hopper exhibition at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, Madrid. The development of all communications elements relevant to the symposium and film cycle (programs, posters, notebooks, and identifiers, among others) is articulated by the play on four shapes and four colors borrowed from Edward Hopper’s pictorial universe that correspond to the shapes and colors of the projections of light in some of his interiors. Shapes/reflections of light reposing upon a dark background represent the influences flowing between Hopper and motion pictures, in a reciprocal game of mirror images.
