The “High-Tech Strategy” of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF)

The BMBF’s aim was to present the future relevant issues ”Health & Food” as well as ”Climate & Energy” in as many aspects as possible – in accordance with the Federal government’s ”High-Tech Strategy” and without users getting lost or bored. To this end, we developed two microsites. Our aim was to present both issues, complex as they are, in a comprehensible and innovative way, maintaining high standards in regard to design. We focused on illustrations as a graphic style as this allowed us to create ’worlds’ that are open for an individual view upon future developments. We decided to use a Scrolling-Parallax-Technique, which allowed us to reach a high information density, meaning that users themselves can determine velocity and complexity of storytelling.
